Grant Recipients 2008
Boy Scout Troop #48 – The Boy Scouts received $1,000 to be used fro the purchase of tents, replacing their current tents which are 15 years old.
Comstock Senior Den – The Comstock Senior Den received $1,000 toward the purchase of a commercial dishwasher.
Custer Care Center – Grant for $1,000 for renovation of new facility.
Safe Communities for Custer County – The Safe Communities for Custer County received $500 to sponsor the bicycle rodeo.
Sargent Swimming Pool – Challenge grant for $1,194.99 for pool repairs.
Tomahawk Park Ball Field Renovation – Grant of $5,000 for purchase of electronic scoreboard.
Broken Bow Chamber of Commerce – Grant of $1,000 for the beautification committee and purchase of Welcome to Broken Bow sign.

The Sargent pool, in need of renovation, received a “challenge” grant for $1,194.99. Sponsors of the pool will have to fundraise matching funds to complete the project.
The Custer Care Center, a 501(c)3 non-profit, received a $1,000 grant from the Custer County Foundation towards renovation of their new building at 1020 S. 2nd. Pictured are Dianna Whitesel, Foundation Board Member, and Jeannette Denson.
The Safe Communities for Custer County committee received a $500 grant to help sponsor the bicycle rodeo. The funds from the Custer County Foundation grant are used by the committee to purchase bicycle helmets and knee pads which are given to the children attending the bike rodeo. This year’s event, held in Callaway May 2008, drew 50 youngsters.
